All art mosaics commissioned with the Stuc and Mosaic studio are fully manufactured in France with materials adapted to modern architecture and with products, adhesives (cement, epoxy glues, binders… etc) of a professional quality. Mosaics offer a high resistance and they are designed to be laid on walls or floorings, indoors or outdoors.
Made in France mosaic artworks, often unique ‘handmade’ artworks, are entirely cut with the mosaic artist tools and are guaranteed of a beautiful quality of artistic execution.
How to check the quality of a mosaic of art?
If many mosaics are available on internet, from distant countries, at unbeatable prices, please take into account that most are made by children and adults working in deplorable conditions. They have not attended any specific training in the traditional mosaic technique or any artistic education. Also the mosaics are often ‘pixels’ and lack of harmony: there’s no artistic research in the layout of the tiles which are simply juxtaposed.
How to check the durability of a mosaic artwork?
If many mosaics, which obviously require hours of work, are offered very cheap, it is because on the other hand, although the colours of marbles are very attractive, the glues used are very often of poor quality (mixture of sand and resin for example).
Result: after a few months or extended exposure to the sun and rain, the glue disintegrates and the mosaic falls into pieces!
What about the delivery and mosaic installation by yourself ?
You wait many weeks to receive your imported mosaic, which comes in several pieces: some are missing, some are broken…
There is no possibility of on-site installation, finishing touches and advice by your mosaic artist!
